S&P Global Ratings has projected US real GDP growth of 2 per cent in 2025 and 2026 on an annual average basis compared to 2.8 per cent in 2024—modestly up from its September forecast and slightly above near-term potential growth.
In 2027 and 2028, it forecasts such growth will slow further, averaging 1.8 per cent annually.
It expects the One Big Beautiful Bill Act to back consumer spending in 2026.
